Philadelphia Flyers center Phil Kessler has opened a new hair-care salon in the Belleza neighborhood of Philadelphia, which is also home to the new Philadelphia Union soccer team.
Kesser’s new salon, which will feature a salon with a salon vibe, will open in March.
“We’re proud to be bringing an innovative and creative salon experience to our neighborhood,” Kessers owner, Michael B. Binkley, said in a statement.
“Our goal is to provide a unique experience to the local community and bring more people into our neighborhood and its businesses, including the Philadelphia Union.”
“The new salon will be the first in Philadelphia that is not affiliated with the Philadelphia Flyers,” Kessels co-owner and Flyers captain Nicklas Grossman said in the statement.
The club and Kesslers team have a long history of working together, as they share the same agent and agent manager, Nick Gossett.
“Phil Kessles is an iconic figure in Philadelphia and the Flyers,” Grossman told the Philadelphia Inquirer in 2016.
In 2014, Kesselman won a national competition to design a salon for the team’s inaugural season in Philadelphia.
In 2019, the Flyers won the Stanley Cup in the first of five consecutive seasons with the Kesselers in the team.
“Phil Kessel has always been a passionate entrepreneur and I am thrilled to welcome him back to Philadelphia and to his team,” said Commissioner Gary Bettman.
“His success and passion for the game of hockey will forever be inextricably linked to our city and its fans.”
The new Salon will be a part of the Philadelphia International Trade Center, which opened in 2021.
It will feature both traditional and innovative stylists.
